Havens stroked a home run on Monday night

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL - The Mets could not make it two in a row on Monday night when they welcomed the Charlotte Stone Crabs. A fifth inning surge allowed the Stone Crabs to grab the lead, one they would not relinquish. From there, the Mets attempted to get back into the game, but could not edge closer in a 6-3 loss. Kyle Allen's boxscore does not tell the whole story of his start. Yes, he was charged with six earned runs in 4 2/3 innings with four walks but the box score does not speak to the effectiveness of his pitches especially in the early going. Allen's stuff was sharp during the first four innings. His fastball sat 91-93 MPH. He painted the fastball, with very good tail, away from left-handers...
