Carrera's 12 triples led the Florida State League

The first half of the Florida State League season could not have gone worse for the High-A Mets as the offense starved for runs over an extended period of time. By the second half, the lineup showed resiliency as they made a push to claim a playoff spot. But they could not maintain their consistency, and they fell out altogether. Yet there were names that stood out, so we hand out some awards.

PITCHER OF THE YEAR: Dillon Gee: 8-6, 3.25 ERA, 21 GS, 127.1 IP, 94 K, 19 BB, .245 OBA [St. Lucie] After a fine season in Brooklyn in 2007, Gee arrived in St. Lucie and was consistent the entire season.
