After being snubbed by the Phillies and labeled as a disappointment, outfielder Jorge Padilla has proven to be anything but in 2006, his first year as a Mets prospect. A healthy Padilla has been one of few consistent bats in the Binghamton lineup, one that has struggled frequently to put up runs.

Drafted by the Phillies in 1998, the twenty six year old native of Puerto Rico signed with the Mets after the 2005 season. It looks as if the Mets might have the last laugh over their division rivals who gave up on the slugger, who has exceeded his career numbers thus far.
