Gomez Continues To Improve

Gnats' centerfielder Gilbert Gomez is a young player in the process of refining his game and finding his comfort zone where he can maximize his balance between power and speed. For the 20-year old Gomez the process of refinement has meant consistent adjustments at the plate as well as adjustments to his changing body and skill sets as he matures physically and mentally.

At the plate Gomez actively cultivates a disciplined outlook which focuses on taking pitches, working counts, drawing walks and getting on base. And it shows. He worked 48 base on balls in 285 at-bats, bolstering his .365 on base percentage which is over 100 points higher than his .256 batting average.
