Flores hit .300 with 48 extra-base hits in 2012

BINGHAMTON, NY - Wilmer Flores spent just over two months in Binghamton, and he has proven that he can hold his own at this new level. The Venezuelan infielder finished hitting .311 with the B-Mets, with eight home runs and an OPS of .855. His numbers impressed manger Pedro Lopez, who is finally seeing Flores come into his own.

"It's great," Lopez said. "I think that the most impressive thing is not only that he's been able to hit, but his plate discipline has been really good. "Watching him play for the past four years and watching him now at the plate he's more selective, he's walking more often, and that's a good sign of him learning his strike zone."
