Tovar Continues To Adjust

BINGHAMTON, NY - After signing with the New York Mets as a non-drafted free agent in 2007, Wilfredo Tovar is finally making his debut at the Double-A level. The infielder from Venezuela began the season in St. Lucie, but after a 65 game stretch during which he hit .284 with 17 doubles, Tovar was promoted to Binghamton.

"It's been great so far to be in Binghamton," Tovar said, "the transition has been good. It's different because the pitchers throw more strikes and they have much better command of their pitches, so I've had to adjust."
