| Biography: |
The Mets acquired Royce Ring in a deal that sent Roberto Alomar to the Chicago White Sox. The Mets also acquired RHP RP Edwin Almonte and second baseman Andrew Salvo.
The White Sox selected Royce Ring with the 18th pick of the 1st round in the 2002 first year player draft. Royce was an All-American at San Diego State where he led the Aztecs in saves in both 2001 and 2002. He also pitched for the US National team in 2001. With the White Sox AA affiliate in Birmingham, Ring posted a 1-4 record with a 2.52 ERA and 19 saves. |
