| Biography: |
| The Mets drafted Michael Jacobs in 1999. He attended Grossmont Junior College in California. Jacobs only above average tool is his power. He's a left-handed power hitting catcher whose overall defense is not considered good enough to start. But, he has a lefty-power bat off the bench. Most projected that he would eventually be shifted to first base following a stellar debut with Kingsport in 1999. His power and the versatility to play first and catch projects him to be a solid reserve player. |
