| Biography: |
| The Mets drafted Wayne Ough, an Australian, in 2000. He attended Trinadad State College in Colorado. Throughout his minor league career, Ough has been plagued with arm troubles and wildness. Despite throwing a low-to-mid 90s fastball and a big breaking curve, Ough continued to struggle with control as he issued 42 bases on balls in 77 innings. After returning from injury, Ough may finally have turned a corner, in his last 7 appearances (6 starts), he was 4-2 with a save, allowed 29 hits, issued 14 walks and struck out 28 in 38 innings pitched. Over that stretch, he held hitters to a collective BA of .203 and an ERA of 2.61. |
