| The Mets acquired Roberto Alomar in a deal that sent Matt Lawton, Alex Escobar, Jerrod Riggan, Bill Traber and Earl Snyder to the Cleveland Indians. The Mets also received Mike Bacsik and Danny Peoples from the Indians. In a distinguished career that will certainly install him in Cooperstown, Alomar has played for the San Diego Padres, Toronto BlueJays, and Baltimore Orioles. Alomar possesses 9 Gold Gloves and 4 Silver Slugger Awards. He's a lifetime .304 hitter with 2546 hits, 470 doubles, 76 triples, 201 home runs, 1071 runs batted in, and 462 stolen bases. |
