Biography:
The Mets drafted Ty Wigginton in 1998. Wigginton played both infield and outfield at North Carolina at Asheville. Wigginton played mostly 2B until 2001 when the Mets played him at 3B, 2B and 1B.

Wigginton is an excellent fastball hitter and should develop into a nice reserve/pinch hitter. In his short stint in 2002, Wigginton demonstrated a surprising ability to hit offspeed pitches, but he will need to demonstrate more power to off-set his defensive and base running limitations.
