| Biography: |
| The Mets selected Chris Basak in the 2000 draft. Basak attended the University of Illinois where he started at SS his final 2 seasons. He had experience at 2B and 3B which came in handy when the Mets promoted Jose Reyes to Binghamton. Needless to say, like Enrique Cruz and Robert McIntyre before him, Basak shifted position to make way for Reyes.
Basak is a solid defensive shortstop who handles the bat very well. |
