| Biography: |
| The Mets selected Patrick Strange in the 1998 draft. Strange slid in the draft after being expected to be a first rounder. He had lost some velocity on his fastball as a HS senior. The Mets suspected that his throwing a split-fingered fastball was the cause. Strange has not thrown his splitter professionally.
Donald Strange was once a highly regarded pitching prospect in the Atlanta Braves chain taught Patrick how to throw a splitter. |
