| Watts was selected by the Mets in the 12th Round of the 2001 Major League Baseball Draft out of the University of British Columbia. In 2003, Derran played nine games going 2-2o with the Cyclones and in 2002 he was 4-26 in 10 games with the Cyclones. Watts also spent time with the Kingsport Mets (R) and Capital City Bombers (A). In 2003, he hit .243 (96-395) for Capital City with 30 stolen bases in 111 games. In 2002, he hit .257 (46-179) with 18 stolen bases for the Kingsport Mets. In 2001, he hit .245 (13-53) in 17 games for Kingsport. Watts began the 2004 season with the Capital City Bombers batting .228 (21-92) with 12 runs scored, 1 home run, 8 RBI’s, 4 doubles and 3 triples. With the Cyclones he batted .267 (50-187) with 32 runs scored, 2 home runs, 13 RBI’s with 7 doubles and 3 triples. |
