Biography:
Stewart was selected by the Mets in the 22nd Round of the 2004 Major League Baseball Draft. Caleb was named First Team All-SEC following a superb 2004 season with the Kentucky Wildcats where he hit .329 (72-219) with 50 runs scored, 20 doubles, 3 triples, 10 home runs and 37 RBI. His 128 total bases and .585 slugging percentage were the best on the team. In his three seasons with the Wildcats, Stewart hit .314 with 19 home runs and 88 RBI’s. Stewart began his professional career with the Brooklyn Cyclones, before joining the Capital City Bombers, of the South Atlantic League, and once again joined Brooklyn to finish up the season. Stewart began the 2004 season with the Cyclones before getting promoted to Capital City, and then ending the season with the Cyclones once again. Overall he batted .213 (17-80) with the Cyclones with 12 RBI’s, 8 runs scored, 5 doubles and 2 triples. With Capital City, Stewart batted .314 (27-80) with 5 home runs, 15 RBI’s, 20 runs scored and 6 doubles.
