Biography:
Rondon was signed as an international free agent on 2000. Rondon pitched for the Mets Venezuelan Summer Team in 2001 going 2-2 with a 1.23 ERA. In 44 innings he allowed 28 hits, 6 earned runs, 13 walks and 47 strikeouts. Rondon pitched for the Kingsport Mets in 2002 and 2003. In 2002 he was 2-1 with a 6.37 ERA. In 35.1 innings he allowed 48 hits, 25 earned runs, 23 walks and 32 strikeouts. He went 2-2 with a 4.10 ERA and 11 saves in 2003 pitching in 26.1 innings, allowing 19 hits, 12 earned runs, 11 walks and 44 strikeouts. Rondon began 2004 with the Capital City Bombers going 4-3 with a 4.71 ERA. In 36.1 innings he allowed 32 hits, 19 earned runs, 14 walks and 41 strikeouts. Rondon had 12 saves for the Cyclones in 2004 pitching to a 3-2 record with a 2.23 ERA. In 36.1 innings he allowed 20 hits, 9 earned runs, 17 walks and 47 strikeouts.
