Biography:
The Mets drafted Angel Pagan in 1999, however, he did not sign until May 2000. After failing to sign in 1999, Pagan attended junior college. The toolsy Pagan did not participate in organized sports in Puerto Rico and was discovered at tryout camps during 1999. Thus, Pagan remains somewhat raw for his age. At one time, Pagan projected as a potential first round draft pick, but he slid in the draft. Pagan, a potential 5-tool talent, plays very good defense and bunts. The coachable Pagan has yet to display his power potential because the Mets focussed him on hitting the ball on the ground.
