McDonald knows about New York and the pressure of playing in an intense environment. The 6-foot right handed reliever, from Rockaway, NJ, starred at Seton Hall University, where he impressed in 2007. He racked up six saves, in 26 experiences with a 3.37 ERA. McDonald was selected in the eighth round this season after previously being selected by the Mets in 2004 with the 45th round pick.
