The Mets acquired Roger Royce Ring in a trade that sent Roberto Alomar to the Chicago White Sox. The Mets also acquired Edwin Almonte and Andrew Salvo in that deal. The White Sox selected Ring with their 1st round selection in the 2002 first year player draft. Royce Ring attended San Diego State where he, known as the “Wild Thing” led the Aztecs in saves in 2001 and 2002. Ring also holds single season and career records for saves.
