Three years after his first back injury and two years since fracturing a vertebrate in his lower back, he finally returned to the field for extended playing time. It was a long time coming for Bowman who back in 2004-2005 looked as promising as any young prospect on the farm. Over the next two seasons, he totaled just 139 at-bats—only 20 at-bats in 2007—as he battled his way back. Finally, he had his shot to reestablish himself as one of the leading corner infield prospects in the system. After working out at the Port St. Lucie complex for much of the spring, he returned to High-A ball in mid-June. It appeared as if Bowman had not missed a step as he raced to a .340 average with two home runs and 11 RBI in 26 games...
