Ratliff's patience will lead to improvements

Though it was just last June that Brooklyn Cyclones left fielder Sean Ratliff was in the College World Series as Stanford's regular season home run and RBI leader, the memory already seems distant to him. Now he focuses on becoming a consistent hitter as he endures his rigors of professional ball.

"It's been a long time since I've gotten the barrel of the bat on the ball like that," 21-year-old Sean Ratliff said to the Staten Island Advance after a towering two-run homer and multi-hit night at the Staten Island Yankees' Richmond County Ballpark on July 28.
