Stinson Aims to Redefine Himself
In his sophomore season, Josh Stinson endured as many bumps in the road as a young pitcher can experience. At 19 years old, Stinson was pegged into the Savannah rotation with the hope that he could expand upon his 2006 rookie season in which he was 1-3 with a 1.79 in 40.1 innings in the GCL and Hagerstown. Yet early struggles set the tone for his season, struggles form which he found it difficult to recover. In the season's first two months, Stinson posted a 4.40 ERA but the 2-6 record and opponent's batting average well over .300 exemplified the issues he was having not only with his mechanics, but trusting pitches other than his fastball and changeup.
