The New York Mets selected the tall right-hander in the 25th round of the 2006 MLB Draft out of Gulf Coast Community College {FL). In two years with the organization, he has been as steady coming out of the bullpen as any of his peers. Heading into year three, Cheney wants to take his game to the next level.
