The New York Mets selected the first baseman in the 9th round of the 2004 MLB Draft out of Lake High School in California. He battled through injuries this season, a year after an award winning season at the High-A level in 2006. When healthy, he figures to be a prominent power hitter in the middle of the order. Here is a scouting report on Binghamton first baseman Mike Carp.
