Vital Statistics: Name: Bobby Parnell DOB: September 8, 1984 Height: 6'3" Weight: 180 Throws: Right Bats: Right When Bobby Parnell returned to the St. Lucie rotation last spring, he did so with the intention of pitching with greater variety. He was already known for his tough two-seam fastball and slicing slider, but he was determined to make himself into a more complete pitcher. He is a natural groundball pitcher and getting back to those basics allowed him to piece together a very quality stay in St. Lucie during which he made 12 starts, going 3-3 with a 3.25 ERA. He had full command of his repertoire and pounded the bottom half of the strike zone, two traits which he relies heavily on. "I've always looked at myself as a groundball pitcher; I've learned to just go after batters.
