Pena Wraps Year One

Francisco Pena started his first professional season with much fanfare last spring. Six months later, it is time to look back on the, still, 17-year-old's season. Unlike many players his age who remained down in the Gulf Coast League, he spent all of 2007 with a long season squad in Savannah—quite the test. Inside Pitch spoke with Pena about his rookie season.

"I struggled a little bit in the second half. I thought I was worried a lot about my game, but with my age and my maturity I handled myself alright. I know how to handle myself when I wasn't hitting.
