Bowman's Back Still Not 100 Percent

He believes he'll be ready for Spring Training

After shooting to the top of the leader boards in batting average, home runs and RBI in the Nicaraguan Winter League, Shawn Bowman finally appeared healthy after breaking his back at his L-5 vertebrate in the exact same place in two consecutive seasons. Sent home early however for precautionary measures, he admits his back is not 100 percent with minor league Spring Training approaching.

"It's alright," Shawn Bowman told InsidePitchMagazine.com about his back from St. Lucie. "I wouldn't say it's 100 percent right now. It's hopefully coming around. I just got an injection on Friday and I should be full-go in the next ten days." After missing the remainder of the 2006 season after re-injuring his back on May 13th, he not only appeared to be healthy in Nicaragua this winter...
