Triple-A International League
Making his Triple-A debut, Miguel Perez allowed six runs (five earned) in 2-2/3 innings as Rochester defeated Norfolk Monday, 8-1.
Perez made the start in place of John Maine, who was put in line to start against the Washington Nationals Tuesday at Shea Stadium. Todd Self drove in Norfolk's only run with a single off Pete Munro in the second inning.
Notes: Juan Perez and Bartolome Fortunato combined in relief after Perez's brief start. Perez allowed a run in 3-1/3 innings and Fortunato gave up one run in three innings. … Lastings Milledge went 1-for-5 and is batting .348.
Double-A Eastern League
Bobby Malek and Andy Wilson homered, but that was all the offense the Binghamton Mets could muster in an 8-2 loss at Akron Monday.
Wilson and Malek slugged solo shots in the first and second innings, respectively, off Akron starter Nick Pesco. But B-Mets starter Orlando Roman was touched for five runs in two innings, putting Binghamton in a deficit they couldn't escape.
Notes: Michel Abreu had two hits for Binghamton, the second game in a row he's done that. Since being promoted from Class-A St. Lucie to fill in for the injured Brett Harper, Abreu is batting .455. … The home runs were Wilson's second and Malek's third. Wilson has homered in two straight games. … Binghamton has lost nine of 12.
St. Lucie Mets
Single-A Florida State League
Alay Soler allowed just one hit over seven shutout innings, walking none and striking out seven, as the St. Lucie Mets edged Brevard County Monday, 1-0.
Mike Carp's first-inning RBI single held up as the margin of victory as Soler continued his dominance of Florida State League hitters. In 28.0 innings pitched, Soler has allowed 12 hits and two earned runs, striking out 32 and posting an 0.64 ERA.
Notes: Edgar Alfonzo recorded five outs after Soler for his second hold, and Carlos Muniz got the final out to record his sixth save. … Carp has 13 RBI.
Single-A South Atlantic League
Delmarva's Ryan Finan lifted a sacrifice fly off Brandon Nall to plate the eventual winning run in the seventh inning Monday as Hagerstown fell at home, 3-2.
Eric Brown started for Hagerstown and allowed a run on four hits over five innings. Jose Castro drove in a run with a single in the third inning and Matt Anderson knocked home Nick Evans with a single in the sixth, advancing to second base on a throwing error.
Notes: Anderson had two hits and a run scored for Hagerstown. He is batting .257. … Josh Appell gave the Suns 1-2/3 innings of shutout relief and Marcelo Perez pitched the ninth inning, striking out two.
