The Gulf Coast League Mets had some good pitching performances in 2005. Inside Pitch takes a look at the peripheral stats of the pitchers to find out what their strengths and weaknesses are as they continue to develop in the Mets' farm system. Though very early, we'll even handicap where this hitters will be playing in the 2006 season. Here are the pitchers that amassed at least 20 innings for the GCL Mets and did not have more than 40 innings at a higher level.

Jorge Figueroa - RHP Signed as a free agent out of the Dominican Republic in June of 2004, Figueroa posted some dominant statistics with the DSL Mets in 2004 despite a 2-5 record. He had a 1.86 ERA, struck out 71 batters in 48 1/3 innings pitched, and held Dominican League hitters to a .133 batting average before making his U.S. debut with the Gulf Coast League Mets this past season.
