Hawk Ready to 'Fly' Again
The reason for Hawk's absence this past season was simple enough. He was injured. The complex part may have lied within the extent of the injury. Beginning at the end of last year, Hawk ran into shoulder problems (again, simple enough from the context). However, there was something that may or may not have eluded Met doctors. "We had a different team doctor last year," Hawk said. "He said I just needed to rehab it (shoulder), so that's what I did in the offseason. But around November, I resumed throwing again and had the same pain flare up." Afterward, Hawk flew - pardon the pun - back to New York and saw a different doctor.
