Offseason Q&A with Bobby Keppel
InsidePitchMagazine.com: Bobby, tell us about your injuries last season. Bob Keppel: I had two injuries last year. I had rotator cuff tendonitis, I guess you could call it, in my pitching shoulder back in March. They had Scott Erickson and James Baldwin at Norfolk so the Mets kept me down in St. Lucie for a couple of starts and then I got promoted to Norfolk after Baldwin was promoted to the Mets. I was struggling at the beginning, but I had a strong second half. I figured it out once. I think I had something like a 2.90 ERA the second half. Anyway, my pitching shoulder went out again at the end of August and the Mets decided to shut me down for the rest of the year. They took a bunch of MRI's and they all came back negative. It was really comforting to know that there was nothing structurally wrong with my shoulder. Inside Pitch: Tell us about your season last year, from a pitching point of view.
