Report: Feliciano set to go to Japan

Posted Jan 14, 2005

Reliever Pedro Feliciano, who pitched in 22 games for the New York Mets last season, is set to join the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks of Japan's Pacific League, the Associated Press reported Friday.

The left-handed Feliciano, 28, appeared in 51 major league games with the Mets from 2002 through 2004, the sum of his big league experience.

He is 1-1 with a 4.21 ERA in 72.2 innings in his major league career, and was with the Mets four separate times in 2004, recording a 5.40 ERA in 22 games. He might have figured into the Mets' bullpen plans for the coming season, but would not have been guaranteed a major league job.

Feliciano notched his first major league win on Aug. 4 last season at Milwaukee, striking out two batters in a 6-5 win.
