Marte Still On Track

Marte hit just .235 in the second half

Following a impressive first half, Jefry Marte slowed down a bit, but his talent is still evident in every at-bat even though his numbers have gone down slightly. The Dominican native completed his first full season at the Double-A level, batting .251 with nine home runs, and the third baseman is satisfied with the progress he is making.

"To me I think I've improved the most on hitting" Marte said, "I've been working hard on that, because I think that I have to work very hard on it to get better as far as my approach and my power, so I think I've gotten better at that." Though Marte can clearly hit for power, with 14 homeruns last year and nine this year, hitting coach Luis Natera believes his power is also one of his areas...
