Verrett Showing He Belongs
Drafted in the third round of the 2011 draft, Logan Verrett is working hard to show that he belongs. Verrett is a starting pitcher who works efficiently and has the ability to go deep into games. Verrett throws a fastball ranging from 88-93 mph, a curveball in the low 80s, a slider that hits anywhere between 82 and 86 mph, and a changeup that sits between 79 and 83 mph. "My slider is my best pitch, that's my strikeout pitch," Verrett said. "I also like to set guys up with my curveball early in counts, or my changeup just to get ahead." Verrett's changeup has been a work in progress. He has a pretty good arm speed with the pitch and it has a bit of sink.
