2003 Scouting Report: OF, Prentice Redman

OF, Prentice Redman

The Mets drafted Prentice Redman on the 10th round of the June 1999 free agent draft. Redman played high school baseball in Tuscoloosa, Alabama and Bevill State Community College. The Mets like his tools. As he continues to fill out, he presents a solid combination of power, speed, and defense.

In 2002, Redman had his best season. Redman established career high with 35 doubles, 11 HR, and 43 stolen bases. Redman's walk rate was just under 1.2 per 10 AB, strike out rate is 2.4 per 10 AB, and stolen base rate of 83% (43 SB in 51 attempts.) With the exception of the K-rate, the ratios were excellent.
