Cecchini has five hits in his last three games

KINGSPORT, TN - Gavin Cecchini's professional career did not begin with the fireworks the $2.3 million dollar man probably hoped for. Assigned to Kingsport in the Appalachian League, the 12th overall pick debuted in a three-game series against the Princeton Rays which saw Cecchini go 1-11 with two walks as the Mets dropped all three games.

But don't expect too many more results like that from Cecchini in the future.
