Mejia On Schedule

Mejia was moved up to Buffalo this weekend

After undergoing Tommy John surgery in May 2011, Jenrry Mejia has returned to the mound this season. After four starts, he has earned a W-L record of 1-0 and a 3.79 ERA, but pitching coach Glenn Abbott and first-year manager for the Binghamton Mets Pedro Lopez both agree it is only a matter of time before Mejia is back in the major leagues.

Born in the Dominican Republic, Mejia signed with the New York Mets as an international free agent in 2007. In 2010 he made the Mets' Opening Day roster as a relief pitcher, but was sent back to Double-A midway to finish out the season as starting pitcher.
